We are pleased that you are using our application and website. The following informs you about the handling of your personal data when using our Service. Personal data is all data with which you can be personally identified.

2. What data we process

2.3 User submissions

If you submit/recommend a video, we process:

- The YouTube link or YouTube video ID
- Submission timestamps

2.4 In-app video states

To provide the core features (Watchlist, Watched, Not Interested), we store:

- Timestamps of state changes

2.5 Video metadata shown in the app

To enable discovery, we may store and display limited metadata such as:

- Title, channel name, thumbnail URL, view count, publish date, duration, and YouTube video ID

We do not host YouTube videos. Tapping a video opens YouTube or a browser.

2.6 Anonymous usage analytics

We may collect anonymous usage events to understand how the Service is used and improve it, for example:

- Taps/clicks on videos
- Taps/clicks on categories
- Feature usage counts
- Aggregate performance metrics (e.g., load times)

We aim to keep these events non-identifying and not directly linked to your name or email. If we later introduce third-party analytics or link analytics to an account, we will update this Privacy Policy and, where required, ask for consent.

2.7 Advertising / sponsorship

If we introduce advertising or sponsorship in the future, we may process advertising-related data as required to deliver ads, measure performance, and prevent fraud. If ad partners are used, we will disclose the categories of data shared and provide choices where required by law.

2.8 Website cookies

If you visit our website, cookies or similar technologies may be used for basic functionality and security. If we add non-essential cookies (analytics/marketing), we will show a cookie notice and request consent where required

4. Contact

When contacting us (e.g. via email), personal data is collected. This data is stored and used exclusively for the purpose of answering your request or contacting you and the associated technical administration.

The legal basis for processing is our legitimate interest in answering your request (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). If your contact is aimed at concluding or performing a contract, the additional legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Your data will be deleted once your request has been fully processed, unless legal retention obligations apply.

5. Recipients / service providers

To operate the Service, we may use service providers (processors) that process data on our behalf, for example:

- Hosting, databases, and authentication infrastructure (Supabase etc..)
- Email delivery providers (if we later send emails/newsletters)
- Analytics or crash reporting tools (if added later)
- Advertising partners (if added later)

We only share data to the extent necessary to provide the Service and under contractual obligations, including appropriate safeguards.

6. International data transfers

- Video states and submissions: stored while your account exists, unless you delete them

You can delete your data and/or your account directly in the app:

- Erase all data: immediate
- Delete account: immediate

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure.

11. Children

The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

12. YouTube content, ownership, and takedown requests

The Creator Finder may display YouTube-related content such as thumbnails, titles, channel names, and metadata to enable discovery.

The Creator Finder uses YouTube API Services. Content belongs to its respective owners.
We do not claim ownership of YouTube content, thumbnails, or metadata.

If you are a creator/rightsholder and want content removed from the Service, contact: contact@thecreatorfinder.com with:

- The YouTube video URL(s) and/or channel URL(s),
- What you want removed,
- And proof that you are the rightsholder or an authorized representative (as applicable).

We will review and respond as quickly as reasonably possible.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated “Effective date”. Where required, we will provide additional notice.
